PAVER WALKWAYS · KURTEN
Paver Walkways in Kurten, TX
Paver walkways from the drive to the front door, around the side of the house, or out to the patio, built on a base that keeps them level. We work across Kurten — FM 2038, Highway 21 / US 190 corridor, Kurten Cemetery Road and the surrounding area.
SCOPE
What this service covers.
Only the work we actually do — no padded list. If you are not sure whether your job fits, send a photo and we will tell you straight.
Front entry walks
From the driveway to the front door, sized so two people can walk side by side.
Side-yard and backyard paths
Routes to the gate, the trash cans, or the patio that replace worn dirt tracks in the lawn.
Curves and borders
Straight or curved, with a border course and edge restraint to keep the shape.
Grade and runoff
Set slightly above the lawn and pitched so the walk sheds water rather than holding it.

If everyone walks the same line, it should be a walkway.
The front entry looks unfinished
A narrow builder walk or stepping stones sinking into the lawn.
The old walk has become a trip hazard
Heaved concrete or loose stones that catch a foot.
KURTEN, TX
Paver Walkways in Kurten: what’s different here.
Kurten is a small town of about 400 people (395 at the 2020 census), roughly ten miles northeast of Bryan where Highway 21, US 190, and FM 2038 meet. It was settled by German immigrants in the 1860s, incorporated in 2000, and is mostly owner-occupied country homes on acreage. Kurten has its own zoning ordinance, and construction inside city limits needs a Land Use Permit through the Town Clerk’s office; septic systems are permitted through the Brazos County Health District.
Pavers & Hardscape in Kurten
Sandy topsoil over clay means a patio that looks firm at the surface can still move, so the base is dug through the loose layer before anything is laid.
The ground
Kurten is in the Post Oak Savannah, with sandy soils over a clay subsoil under post oak woods, so trees, roots, and a clay layer a short way down shape most outdoor work.
Homes and lots
Country homes on three to five acres and larger tracts along FM 2038 and Highway 21, with very few small town lots.
