A raised spa spilling into the pool, or a sheet of water from a wall or ledge.

Why people call about this.
The pool looks plain
A rock feature or spillover gives an ordinary pool a focal point.
Road or neighbor noise
Running water covers background noise better than a fence does.
A corner of the yard with no purpose
A fountain set in a bed or at the end of a path gives it one.
KURTEN, TX
Water Features in Kurten: what’s different here.
Kurten is a small town of about 400 people (395 at the 2020 census), roughly ten miles northeast of Bryan where Highway 21, US 190, and FM 2038 meet. It was settled by German immigrants in the 1860s, incorporated in 2000, and is mostly owner-occupied country homes on acreage. Kurten has its own zoning ordinance, and construction inside city limits needs a Land Use Permit through the Town Clerk’s office; septic systems are permitted through the Brazos County Health District.
Pools & Spas in Kurten
On a Kurten acreage property with a septic system, the pool has to be sited clear of the drain field, and the town’s Land Use Permit applies inside city limits.
The ground
Kurten is in the Post Oak Savannah, with sandy soils over a clay subsoil under post oak woods, so trees, roots, and a clay layer a short way down shape most outdoor work.
Homes and lots
Country homes on three to five acres and larger tracts along FM 2038 and Highway 21, with very few small town lots.
